The first work to create a sustainable workplace in the future – developed in the framework likely an office block in London 1960 – has been recognized by the facilities management industry.
Morgan Lovell collected a highly commended award in the best practices in a category outside the suitability of the project, British Institute in facilities for investors in FM Excellence awards.
The transformation specialist office received the award for his work to create a green workplace at its own London headquarters, located in Noel Street, Soho.
GMTV host Penny Smith was the glittering ceremony held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
David Henderson, managing director of Morgan Lovell, said: "Judges were looking at the extent of integration of facilities management throughout the planning, design, construction and operation of the facility.
"Our Noel Street headquarters demonstrate that it is possible to create a sustainable rehabilitation office, using the buildings we already have, in a cost-effective – and to achieve social, economic and environmental benefits of a green workplace.
The office was in the type of building that would have been seen as an environmental payback. However, the design of Morgan Lovell's office and build team worked together to create a cost effective and stylish workplace in harmony with the environment.
Morgan Lovell's office in Noel Street rose to the adjustment BREEAM highest out environmental assessment score to date in the UK, receiving an award from the Building Research Establishment (BRE) as a result.
The company also recently won the prestigious Green Apple Award for office design and condition.
, And the praise BIFMA and BRE and Green Apple Awards, the Noel Street project has also been shortlisted in the Campaign of 99% for rehabilitation, development to find the best examples in the UK of carbon being cut in existing buildings. The award is organized by the magazine of the construction and winner will be announced on November 18, 2008.
Morgan Lovell's Green Office is also in the final of the PFM Awards, as well as Green Haymarket Business Awards and the of the Emirates Glass Leaf Awards – which take place later this year.
