Sonic Team game developers are based in Tokyo, Japan. Before they were called by the name of the Sega AM8, but today the division based in Japan often called GE Global Entertainment Department. The test for the Sonic team was a collaboration of American studies, such as STI visual concepts with their studies Japanese home. They are known for creating the Sonic games.
In 1990, when Nintendo's Mario was very popular among addicted to video games, Sega asked one of its departments to innovate in the house a game based on a character who become popular enough to compete with rival Mario. In 1991, AM8 took the name of his astonishing popular success of Sonic the Hedgehog series and called themselves Sonic Team. Yuji Naka, who is a renowned producer and game designer lead this group of visionaries. With his guidance, the team flourished greatly and became one of the creative powers of the world of videogames.
Even if the group fund developer was flourishing in Japan, tired of politics in the country, most of the best brands creative team, along with Yuji Naka changed the basis for the U.S. branch the same facility. Developers of America launched the second version of Sonic the Hedgehog with the help of this staff Japanese language problems, but it seemed to cause too many obstacles arise between staff from different countries. Because of these problems, Yuji Naka, he decided innovate the third version of Sonic the Hedgehog, only Japanese designers working in the creative core team to help eliminate some of the unnecessary problems.
Later, the U.S. division Sonic Team was established in 1999 and ran until early 2008. While Sega had fallen Console career and was trying to concentrate only on game and software development, the working group became the official Sonic Team Ltd in 2000. Today is the team once again a part of the International Department of Sega after being labeled as second party developer in 2000. The name is not the Sonic Team USA more. Instead, it has been renamed to Sega Studio USA. However, unlike many other units, Sonic Team still retains its name and its internal structure due Sonic the games will never die.
