The third iPhone
Since its launch, Apple's iPhone has revolutionized the mobile phone industry. Although Apple initially did not contribute anything new at the table in terms of hardware and functionality, it offers an easy to use operating system. The iPhone combines a mp3 player, Internet browsing, viewing video and motion-sensitive screen in one device.
The 2nd generation was much further, bringing GPS, 3G and user designed applications and released at the table. This helped cement the iPhone as mobile phone of choice.
We are now awaiting the launch of the iPhone from the 3rd.
There are rumors circulating about what may be available;
-Power Intel CPU
-5 Megapixel camera
-32 Gigabyte Hard Drive
-Capacities of reality.
Increasing the reality is by far the most exciting building.
With 3G iPhone version there is nothing that stands in the way, no bandwidth, GPS tracking and accelerometer phone. These combined could be used to increase reality.
The accelerometer could track how it is dealing with and when to turn, where is the GPS and 3G could provide a connection fast and direct to something like Google Maps.
You can point your iPhone into a building, and say the company name, phone number, the web address, etc, etc. You could also revolutionize the computer gaming market. Now you can have virtual pets that run on your desktop, interact with their actions. A super version of Tamagochi.
Although no release date has not yet been established, people are predicting that the new iPhone launched in September 2009. For my part, I hope to be among the first people in Salt Lake City to get my hands on one.
